WordPress & Front-End Developer

Anthony Pinnock

I've spent 10+ years at agencies and as a freelancer, building websites from a design and content direction: custom WordPress themes, flexible content management with ACF Pro and Gutenberg, and the integrations behind them. I sweat the design details, test across devices and browsers, and keep clients in the loop from first build through launch and handover.

Rentex AV Rentals

A wholesale audio-visual rental company with 13 U.S. warehouses and thousands of rentable items across 16 categories. The site works as a catalog that sales teams and AV companies use to build rental quotes.

Rentex homepage with product search, mega-menu navigation and a category carousel over a warehouse hero image

What I built

  • A custom WordPress theme built from scratch in PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • ACF Pro layouts so the Rentex team can edit pages, location pages and homepage sections without touching code
  • WooCommerce set up as a quote-request cart: Add to quote, quantity controls and a quote summary instead of checkout
  • Search by product and manufacturer, category mega-menus and a category carousel
  • HubSpot form integrations for quotes, contact and newsletter signups
  • Responsive and cross-browser QA, launch and ongoing support

Challenge solved

Rentex rents only to businesses and doesn't sell online, but customers need to assemble a list of gear the way they would in a shopping cart. I adapted WooCommerce's cart into a quote builder: products have no checkout, the cart becomes a quote request, and the request goes to the sales team through HubSpot. That kept WooCommerce's product management, variations and search while matching how Rentex actually does business.

inSegment homepage & GEO Checker

A Boston digital agency's homepage and a free lead-generation tool that scores how ready a website is to be cited by AI search engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini.

GEO Checker page with a URL field, Analyze button and a four-step How It Works section

What I built

  • Homepage templates in inSegment's custom WordPress theme: the animated hero with replay, tabbed services section, results cards and logo carousels
  • The GEO Checker front end: URL validation, a progress bar with step-by-step status messages, the score panel (checks passed vs. needs attention) and error states
  • An email gate that unlocks the full report and sends leads to HubSpot
  • FAQ, proposal form and responsive layouts across both pages

Challenge solved

An audit takes several seconds while the site is crawled and scored. I designed the waiting state as part of the experience, with a live progress bar and messages for each step (reading robots.txt and llms.txt, analyzing content), so visitors stay engaged instead of leaving. A partial result shows first, and the full report is gated behind an email capture for lead generation.

CovetGear

My own consumer-electronics product guide, built to go beyond WordPress: a React single-page app with a custom admin area for managing products, categories and pages.

www.covetgear.com
CovetGear homepage with headline Your Premium Electronics Destination and a Shop by Category grid

What I built

  • The whole project: front end, database, admin area and deployment
  • A product catalog with categories, tags, search and product pages
  • A password-protected admin dashboard with a rich-text editor for products, categories and site pages
  • Per-page SEO metadata, plus scripts that generate the sitemap and llms.txt for AI search
  • A cookie-consent banner that controls analytics, and a contact form

Challenge solved

I wanted a site I could manage like a CMS without running WordPress. I built a small admin area on Supabase (Postgres, authentication and row-level security), so content updates go live without a redeploy. The public pages stay a fast static build on Vercel.
